Still Thirsty (Based on St. Luke: chapter 16)
Pauper, peasant, priest or king
We plan for days to come
And what will our future bring?
God's praise, His peace, - or scorn?
One breath, one blood, the same have all
The only thing that matters
Is what we do, - when duty calls
Do we build or do we scatter?
Some think they're above those beneath
Their privilege, rank, and title
And never stop to contemplate
The doom of the rich and idle
God wills His kingdom come to earth
And we do it by our deeds
But woe to pride-filled eyes
Blind to their brother's needs
They too, one day will upward look
And cry to God for mercy
But like the rich man "Jives," who's still in hell
They'll wait, in torments, - thirsty!
