A Little Way

Gliding through the spacious skies
I sit above the clouds
Passengers with thoughts are busy
The captain’s voice is loud
But I choose to think of You
And all Your blood has bought
And wonder that Your friendship
Is one thing most have never sought
The earth in silence turns so slow
And the present turns to past
As the space between two points
Goes by like an hourglass
And on the way from here to there
Within this life of dreams
There’s sweet peace and security
- No matter how things seem
For Your spirit deep within
Is ever whispering to my soul
And no matter what I have to face
It’s comforting to know
My destination to Heaven fair
Is more certain than the day
So I welcome all the journey brings
For it’s but, - a little way.
