Ears to Hear
Death’s but a door, that we all must explore
A mystery of silence serene
Once fears are stilled, our spirits are thrilled
By scenes that exceed all our dreams
Then a rush of wind like a touch on our skin
Whispers hope like finding an oasis
And colors and lights amidst shadows of night
Seem like sunsets over a mesa
And nebulas stretch like great mists adrift
Cast a backdrop of brazen, brown mountains
And love from God’s eyes shines down from on high
And cascades past tall flowing fountains
As their purples and pinks, sparkle and wink
Earth turns far distant in silence
How could we doubt, or let our faith blink
For heaven’s much, much more than promised
And these sights that begin, can but only offend
Descriptions our minds can't embrace
Though God lingers and waits, He never condemns
Those who live and who die by His Word
And quite soon we shall pass, for He's told us that
The question is, have we really - heard?
