When My Soul Leaks out it's Pain

I saw the frozen river
A great white glacial band
Mystic mountain silence
- Purest I’ve ever heard
I lit up that old peace-pipe
“Falling Eagle” gave me when
We took the timber companies to court
And run them off his land
The world always gets smaller
When you fly the friendly skies
It’s then I miss you most
And see your little smile
Like children playing in the rain
In some watercolor scene
I still call your name some nights
- When my soul leaks out its pain
One day the sky will call to me
And I’ll have served my time
I’ll fly away and meet you there
Where the water falls gently by
With childlike eyes you’ll feed the deer
- Just like you used to do
Before the gods took you from me
And turned my dreams to rain
I sat for several hours
Up on Old Blackfoot Ridge
Remembering all our special times
- Before your cancer came
Remembered all our hopes and dreams
Back, when the earth was young
- When Eden was ours to keep
And passion, - ours to tame
Then the frozen river beckoned
To my soul so cold and still
Speaking wisdom for my misery
And a love left unfulfilled
Now my eyes are open wider
Though the world’s still in pain
For you're always in my thoughts
- 'Till you're in my arms again.
