Work Boots and Solitude
Are things that my world shares
At dawn the boots go on
By dusk, - I need repair.
Repair from a day of duty
For duty pays the bills
But solitude is priceless
And a need that must be filled
For in stillness and reflection
We come to understand
The difference in extremes
That pull and make demands
Work boots and solitude
Are things that my world shares
For today may scream "Necessity!"
But tonight will whisper, - "Prayer."
